Our expectations to 9 hours of train operations through 5 days was not optimistic. In the beginning we kept the high demands on punctuality and accuracy in the timetable, but in the last to day the work was done with dull eyes and a slow understanding when a shunting movement went wrong for the second time. It was common for all the exhibitors at Intermodellbau 2008 that the energy was falling as the days went by. It was a great experience with 8 large exhibitions halls and a well running organisation behind. We just had to build our layout and run the trains, every other things was planned and taken care of. In the 5 days over 100.000 visitors went to the exhibition centre and about 50.000 visit the 2 halls with modelrailways, quit a bit over the 5.000 we normally expect in a well visited Scandinavian exhibition.![]() Though the 5 days journalist and photographers from MIBA, Eisenbahn Magazin, Eisenbahn Kurier, MOBA and the Spanish Maquetren visit our layout. The interest from the visitors was high as usual and some visitors even know Jappe Bruk in advance and has planned to make a careful study. Language was no barrier to many interested questions.

| Another side of the 5 exhibitions days that the visitors never saw was the morning cleaning of the layout and the evening inspection and service of the engines at the hotel room. The daily working period was about 11 hours and with the travel in the rush hours there was only spare time for a late dinner before the need for sleep was pressing. Fortunately that it only is a hobby. | ![]()

![]() In some periods it was overwhelming to stand at Jappe Bruk with visitors in more rows. Sometimes it was necessary to halt the trains at the photogenic views until all photographers were satisfied. Under this circumstances it was difficult to keep track on the timetable, but now we know how it is to walk on the red carpet in the flashlights.
